Masked Men Attempt Robbery At Apartment

Five or six men wearing ski masks attempted to rob a Spokane apartment Friday, police said.

Officers responded to a call at about 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of East Wedgewood. The resident told police he and two others were in the apartment when they heard a knock at the front door.

One of them opened the door and the masked men entered the apartment and ordered them to lie on the floor. One was armed with a handgun and threatened to shoot.

The men demanded to know where drugs were, then ransacked the house.

The victims told police they didn’t know the men, nor were there any drugs in the apartment.

Police searched the neighborhood but did not find anyone who matched the description of the armed man. He was white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 160 pounds. He was wearing a shirt with orange and white horizontal stripes.

Anyone with information on the robbers is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
