Rockets Soar Past Spokane
The Rockets took off Sunday afternoon at Skyreach Place Kelowna scored three straight third-period goals to post a come-from-behind 4-3 Western Hockey League victory over the Spokane Chiefs.
Jeff Lucky’s power-play goal for Spokane at 12:19 of the first period was the only goal in the first 40 minutes of play.
Kelowna tied the game at 1-1 41 seconds into the final period, but the Chiefs answered with goals by Chris Barr and Lynn Loyns to take a 3-1 lead with 10:38 left to play.
The Rockets got a pair of goals three minutes apart from Jan Fadrny to knot the score at 3-3, and then Rory McDade nailed the game-winner, on a Fadrny assist, with just 30 seconds left in the match.
Spokane falls to 6-5, while Kelowna improves to 4-6-2.
