Disregard the Aki the Jockey sighting in your Daily Racing Form for tonight’s sixth race.

Aki Kato, who has ridden more than 1,100 winners at Playfair Race Course, is listed in today’s form as the pilot on Lloyd Walker’s mare, TV Walker.

But entries filed with the racing industry’s stats bearer, Equibase, show the rider as Holly Gervais.

Since Kato rarely thinks about accepting mounts when the temperature drops too far below his riding weight, we’ll assume that Gervais has the mount.

But anything Kato might even consider has to be fairly live. TV Walker is 8-1 on the morning line. I need a horse to run at a price (see bottom line) so I’ll throw a few bob on old TV somewhere in my exotics, hoping she’s more of a runner than a walker.

An interesting third is a rare stakes event for Arabian horses, the $2,000 Aslin Finch. I confess to a bias against horses with names that start with initials.

But until her last out the N-L in N-L Serbania stood for Never Loses. She won five straight and just got nicked going for a sixth here a month ago for Sylvia Ellingwood.

She ought to be good enough to bounce back here under Rowdy Luark.
