Newman Lake Mailboxes Smashed

Newman Lake residents thought their homes were being shot at Saturday night.

The loud noises mistaken for gunfire turned out to be the sound of mailboxes being smashed Saturday at around 10:15 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office sent several deputies to West Newman Lake Drive. They found the smashed mailboxes but no suspects.

A Chevrolet truck with a snow plow attachment was seen driving southbound at the time of the incidents.

Anyone with information about the truck or mailboxes should call Crime Check at 456-2233.
