Adam Saebo scored twice in the first half to start Lakeland toward a 5-2 boys soccer win at Lewiston in the North Idaho League on Tuesday.

Luke Van Valen added a pair of second-half goals for the Hawks. Erik Wessels assisted on both Lewiston goals.

Justin Parkins and Ryan Witham scored their first goals of the season and Lake City (1-2) defeated visiting Northwest Christian of Spokane 2-0 in a non-league match. Because of injuries, the Timberwolves are playing without four starters. NWC played its season opener… . Charlie Kingsland’s penalty kick in the 58th minute allowed Sandpoint to edge visiting Coeur d’Alene 1-0.

Girls soccer

Liz Hail controlled Rebecca Schmidt’s corner kick and punched in the first goal during Coeur d’Alene’s 2-0 win over visiting Gonzaga Prep (0-1) in a nonleaguer. Sisters Erica and Kelly Hauck added an insurance goal for the Vikings (3-0).
