No Rabies Shots After Dog Attack

A woman attacked by a dog on the Centennial Trail last week has decided not to get rabies shots.

The woman was bitten on the leg by a large dog while biking near the state line on August 30. After the attack, the dog’s owner yelled to her that the dog was current on its shots, then drove away, according to Spokane County Animal Control officials.

The woman decided not to go through with the shots since the dog had an owner.

“She said she might feel differently if it was a stray,” said Animal Control director Nancy Hill.
