Transito `Tony’ Oton Spokane

Memorial service for Transito Robles “Tony” Oton, 85, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Northview Bible Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

An 18-year Spokane resident, Mr.

Oton died Thursday. He was born in Courtland, Ariz.

He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines and was a glider pilot.

Mr. Oton worked in the copper mines in Arizona. He also worked for various aircraft companies and was a cartoonist for Disney. He retired as a maintenance supervisor for the city of Torrance, Calif., in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jean; a daughter, Andrea Oton of Los Angeles; two stepdaughters, Christine Hanson of Mead and Michele Claire of Seaside, Calif.; a brother, Gabe Oton of Superior, Ariz.; and seven sisters, Jessie Shandelmier of San Marcos, Calif., Julia Gutierez of Buena Park, Calif., Mary Stoermer of Covina, Calif., Vickie Madrigal of Tuscon, Ariz., Sarah Velasco of Dragoon, Ariz., and Mitcha Guerrera and Virginia Lopez, both of Globe, Ariz.

Wilma Finn Spokane

Service for Wilma Jean Finn, 88, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Finn, who was born in British Columbia, died last Monday.

She was a Spokane resident for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Finn worked as a secretary in the insurance industry.

There are no surviving family members.

Keith Geer Hayden, Idaho

At his request no services will be held for Keith Geer, 78. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Geer, who was born in Iowa, died Aug. 31.

He graduated from high school in Clarinda, Iowa.

Mr. Geer moved to Medical Lake in 1966, to Lewiston in 1990, and to Hayden in 1995.

He married Anita Kiehn in 1973 in Spokane.

Mr. Geer worked for Lakeland Village, near Medical Lake, for 23 years as a mechanic before retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife at home; two daughters, Helen Cloonan of San Diego, Calif., and Judy Hilsabeck of Spokane; a son David Kiehn of Seattle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel Henigman Spokane

Memorial service for Hazel E. Henigman, 89, will be at 4 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Henigman, who was born in Montana died Thursday.

She had lived in Spokane for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Henigman worked as a waitress for various restaurants in the Portland area.

She was a member of the Women’s Home League of the Salvation Army.

Her husband, Joe, died in 1989.

Survivors include four sons, Virgil Edgmond of Spokane, Cliff Edgmond of Portland, Lonnie Edgmond of Mount View, Calif., and Harold Edgmond of San Diego; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
