Chiefs Deal For A Defenseman
The Spokane Chiefs, looking for help on the blue line, traded for defenseman Chris Ovington of the Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday.
Ovington has played four seasons in the Western Hockey League, beginning with Saskatoon in the 1996-97 season. He spent the next season and most of the following one with Red Deer before returning to the Blades, for whom he scored 21 points in 68 games last winter.
The Chiefs gave up a fourth-round bantam draft choice to acquire 20-year-old Ovington.
