Subdivision Hearing Delayed Until October

From Staff

A public hearing tonight concerning a controversial plan for a 110-lot subdivision has been postponed until Oct. 18 at city hall.

Rob Reagan, from Timberline LLC, also postponed a scheduled August hearing before planning and zoning commissioners. Reagan wants to build a 33-acre subdivision on land adjacent to city limits. He is asking the commission’s approval to annex and rezone an area just south of Lakeland High School.

Reagan called City Hall on Tuesday about the hearing, and decided to hold off on the idea one more month, planning administrator Jan Hale said.

Opponents of the project say the subdivision will cause huge traffic problems because the area isn’t aligned with any major streets.
