Hunter Education

From Staff Reports

Idaho’s 1,400 certified hunter education instructors volunteer to teach more than 500 classes a year. Those classes average 20 hours of instruction. Idaho youths can complete their hunter education as early as 11 years old, but they can’t purchase an Idaho license until they are 12.

Panhandle residents are beginning to take advantage of Washington’s youth bargain, which allows hunter education-certified nonresident youths to hunt for resident license fees regardless of their age.
