Messiah Lutheran Holds Missionfest

Messiah Lutheran Church will host Missionfest 2000 on Saturday. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature information booths, games and hands-on activities representing the various ministries of the church.

There also will be a potluck lunch, with the church providing hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a side dish or salad.

As a continuation of the mission theme, the church will host a showing of a missionary film on Madagascar at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Mead church celebrates anniversary

Covenant United Methodist Church in Mead will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Sunday. The morning will begin with a worship service at 10 a.m. A potluck lunch, music and program will follow at noon. The church is located at 15515 N. Gleneden Drive.
