Sight-In Rifles Before Opener

Big-game hunters can boost their odds for success this season by sighting-in their rifles at area rifle ranges before opening day.

In Spokane, the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council is joining The Spokane Rifle Club to open the range along the lower Spokane River as a public service to non-members.

Starting Saturday through Oct. 13, shooters are welcome to bring their rifles to the club daily from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The exceptions are Mondays and Tuesdays, when the club will be open only to members.

Most of the activity is on the 100 yard range, but the 50 and 200 ranges also will be available.

Cost is $10.00 per shooter for up to two rifles. The club will furnish targets. The event is a fund-raiser for improving range facilities.

Info: 327-9632.

In Idaho

The Coeur d’Alene Rifle and Pistol Club also opens it’s range to nonmembers.

Now through October, the club will be open from 8 a.m. to dusk seven days a week. Cost is $5 for nonmembers and $2 for members. Targets and ear protection are for sale at the clubhouse.

The range is on Atlas Road near the Industrial Park about two miles north of Seltice Way. Info: (208) 666-8803.
