Growth Plan Comment Deadline Is Tuesday
The last day for comment on Spokane’s Draft Comprehensive Plan is Tuesday.
The plan, which is required by the state’s Growth Management Act, is designed to plan Spokane’s growth for the next 20 years. The draft consists of three main choices for future planning and contains numerous suggestions regarding land use and other areas of public policy.
Based in part on citizen comments, the City Plan Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council on a final plan.
Copies of the draft plan can be found on the city’s Web site (www.spokanecity.org), by buying a $5 CD-ROM from the Planning Services Department, or by picking up Quest, a magazine-style summary, at the department.
Comments on the plan must be in writing. They should be sent to City of Spokane, City Plan Commission, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Room 200, Spokane, WA 99201-3329. Comments also can be e-mailed to complan@spokanecity.org.
