Man Charged With Valley Murder

A man was charged Friday with the Aug. 24 murder of a Spokane Valley man, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives allege that Joshua Ned Tangedahl, 22, of 1311 W. Ninth, shot Garvey C. Parker outside Sommerset Village Apartments, 12204 E. Fourth. Police believe the incident occurred after Parker, 27, and Tangedahl went to an apartment to purchase methamphetamine.

“The deal went awry and Parker was shot once in the chest with a small caliber pistol,” sheriff’s spokesman Dave Reagan said in a statement.

Tangedahl has been in Spokane County Jail since Sept. 14 after police arrested him for vehicle theft.
