Get A Hunch/Bet A Bunch

The second week of racing at Playfair ends tonight with trainer Tim McCanna commanding his usual respect.

McCanna, who was in the money with all 10 of his first 10 entries, will send out favored Barmora in tonight’s seventh, a sprint for non-winners of two.

Since Barmora will go off at a short price, I’ll try to beat her with Blue Moon Express, a 4-year-old out of Kim Wright’s barn.

She’ll need a clear break and some racing luck to overcome an outside post, but with her best, she has a shot at knocking off the favorite.

Tonight’s stabs.

THIRD:$1 pick 3: BERRIES and MOTOWN MUSIC with WAPATO WIND and ASK SLEW in the fourth with FLO JO EXPRESS, SAY GRACE FIRST JO, ZIPIZAPE and SERIOUSNESS in the fifth.

FOURTH: $10 to win on WAPATO WIND. $2 trifecta wheel WAPATO WIND and ASK SLEW to same two for second with ALL for third.

SIXTH: $10 to win on BEAVER PELT. $1 trifecta wheel BEAVER PELT on top with ALL for second with SON OF A DIPLOMAT, OUR NAPOLEON and C BLEND TWO for third. $1 pick 3: BEAVER PELT with BLUE MOON EXPRESS and BARMARA in the seventh with NORTHERN RICKY and PARTY AT THE BAR in the eighth.
