McKay funeral time wrong

Because of incorrect information provided to the newspaper, the funeral service time was incorrect in the Wednesday obituary for Frances McKay. A corrected obituary appears in today’s IN Life section.

Baseball player misidentified

The base runner shown in a photo from the Northwest League All-Star Game in Wednesday’s newspaper was misidentified in the caption. The runner is Matt Macri of the Tri-City Dust Devils.

Man survived rollover crash

The man involved in a rollover crash on Highway 2 Tuesday morning was not killed. William O. Gregory, 53, is alive and in the intensive care unit at Sacred Heart Hospital. Gregory was pinned underneath his car after it rolled on the highway near Oregon Road in north Spokane County.

Number of stores with eBay services wrong

Spokane has more than 11 UPS Stores that provide auction services for the online site eBay. A Sunday business story said that Spokane has three.

Fact in 1949 Mann Gulch fire story wrong

A Monday story about the 1949 Mann Gulch fire stated that Walter Rumsey, one of the three surviving smokejumpers, tried and failed to jump from a plane after the tragedy. The information was from a recently published book on the fire, but is incorrect, according to Robert Sallee, the last living survivor of the fire. Sallee said he and Rumsey completed two jumps together after the fire.

Restaurant name misspelled

Gramma’s Backyard Style BBQ, a restaurant in Coeur d’Alene, was misspelled in last Friday’s edition of 7.

Name, site wrong in Festival story

In an article about the Festival at Sandpoint in last Friday’s 7, Dyno Wahl’s name was misspelled. Also, the article should have said Buddy Guy played in February at the Big Easy Concert House, not at last year’s Pig Out in the Park.
