Prices elusive for GOP convention items

NEW YORK – It’s notoriously hard to pry real numbers out of politicians in an election year. Maybe that’s why the Republican National Convention’s host committee posted a listing of NYC 2004 memorabilia on the Web – without any pricing information.

Would-be buyers have no way of knowing how much they’ll have to shell out for their women’s convention spaghetti-strapped, sparkle tank top, “Official George W. Bush Inaugural Coin & Card” set or jade crystal paperweight. The committee will post the price information in the coming weeks, according to its Web site, www.nyc2004.com.

A walk-in store featuring all the items will be open during the convention at the New York Hilton.
