Big Sky may look at NDSU
FARGO, N.D. — North Dakota State officials are hoping the next Big Sky Conference meeting will yield good news about a possible league expansion.
North Dakota State is moving to NCAA Division I-AA this year and plans to play in the new Great West Football Conference, but university officials also would like to join the Big Sky.
Commissioner Doug Fullerton has said expanding the eight-team conference will be one of the top priorities when the Big Sky’s university presidents meet in Salt Lake City on Monday.
“My sense is they are ready to seriously consider expansion,” said Joseph Chapman, NDSU’s president.
“One thing I wouldn’t do is to presume to know what they’re ultimately going to do.”
