Conference to focus on special-ed
An educational conference for parents with children with special-education needs will be held Saturday at the Mirabeau Park Hotel at Sullivan and Interstate 90. The event was planned by parents with children with special needs.
Called “No Child (with a disAbility) Left Behind,” the conference will include featured speaker Reed Martin, an attorney and expert on education rights for children with disabilities. The goal of the conference is to let parents know what their children are entitled to by law, and help them work with their schools.
The cost is $45 per person or $65 per couple. The fee includes workshops, lunch and a workbook. Some scholarships are available. There also will be a kids program for special-needs children.
