Eastern Washington Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – A volunteer is needed at the resource center related to hearing loss. Must have a basic understanding of how libraries are organized as well as organizational and computer skills. Call Char at 328-9220 or e-mail char@wecdhh.org.

Epilepsy Foundation Washington, Eastern Regional Office – “Epilepsy: OUT in the OPEN Walk” is Oct. 2 at 8 a.m. at the Mirabeau Parkway North Trailhead. Team captains are needed to help out the day of the walk, sign-up sponsors and deliver posters. Teens are welcome. Contact Sharon at 325-1128 or e-mail sjohnston@epilepsywa.org.

Hospice of Spokane – Volunteer to work with clients in their final stages of life. Prepare meals, do light housekeeping or just be there for company. Training starts in September and October. Call Jim at 456-0438 or e-mail jedwards@hospiceofspokane.org.

Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery – Volunteers are needed to answer phones, distribute diapers and formula and serve at the front desk. Four-hour shifts are available. Call Patty at 535-3155 or e-mail patty@vanessabehan.org.
