Dodgers 6, Marlins 1: Wilson Alvarez won his fourth consecutive decision, and Steve Finley and Adrian Beltre each homered and drove in a pair of runs to lead Los Angeles past visiting Florida.
Giants 5, Expos 4: J.T. Snow hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth after the Expos scored twice to tie it in the top half of the inning, and Barry Bonds hit two homers as San Francisco beat visiting Montreal.
Cardinals 7, Reds 2: Tony Womack scored the go-ahead run on a bases-loaded walk from Danny Graves in the eighth and Larry Walker hit the next pitch for a grand slam to lead St. Louis to a win over visiting Cincinnati.
Brewers 3, Cubs 1: Victor Santos allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings to win for the first time since beating Chicago on July 16 as Milwaukee nipped visiting Chicago.
Astros 5, Phillies 0: Roy Oswalt and two relievers combined on a five-hitter, and Raul Chavez hit a three-run double as Houston won in Philadelphia. Oswalt (13-8) allowed five hits, struck out seven and walked two in 7 2/3 innings for his fifth consecutive win.
Rockies 6, Mets 4: Jason Jennings overcame a slow start to pitch seven solid innings as Colorado beat visiting New York at Denver.
Pirates 7, Diamondbacks 1: At Phoenix, Craig Wilson and Ty Wigginton both homered as visiting Pittsburgh defeated Arizona to earn its fourth consecutive win.
