Street plans on agenda

If you’ve been wondering when the city of Spokane will get around to fixing the streets in your neighborhood or along your route to work, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a 10-year plan in the works.

To hear a review of the plan and give city officials your input on the matter, you can attend one of the following public meetings in the coming week:

• Tuesday, 6-7:30 p.m., Five-Mile Grange, Five Mile and Strong Roads

• Thursday, 6-7:30 p.m., Southside Senior Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave.

• Friday, 4-6 p.m., City Council Chambers, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

Mayor Jim West and the Citizens’ Streets Advisory Committee will host the forum.

East Valley School District. Last chance to tell the directors of East Valley School District 361 what you think of their proposed 2004-05 budget will be at Tuesday evening’s meeting. The session is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the district administration office, 12325 E. Grace. Copies are available from the district.

Dig this opportunity. People with a stake in how paving and utility contractors fill in and pave the trenches they dig for utility work have one more chance to share their opinions with three local governments.

Spokane County and the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley will host the second of two public meetings on their regional draft pavement cut policy Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.. The session will be in the Commissioners Hearing Room of the Spokane County Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway.
