Methodists on Moran offer concert

Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave., is inviting the community to a free concert in its park on Saturday.

Valerie Hicks of Whitebird Ministries, Cheri Collier of Prison Ministries, The Harmony Harpers and the Hauoli Dancers of Project Joy will perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Homemade pie will be served at intermission. Guests are asked to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.

Rummage sale and fund-raiser

Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., is inviting the community to join in an unusual rummage sale Saturday.

“Sacred Rubble: Unloaded” is a project to raise awareness about giving and receiving, living a more simple and uncluttered life, and letting go of material objects, and creating more space so that God’s spirit can bring greater good.

To participate, bring an object you no longer want or use to the church between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Donated items will also be available to everyone at no cost.

Crosswalk, SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. and Second Harvest Food Bank will also be at the event to accept donations.

Preschool open house

Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada St., is hosting an open house on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. for parents interested in enrolling children in the Son-Shine Lutheran Preschool.

The school has openings in its two- and three-day classes.

Three-year-old children attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Classes for 4- and 5-year-olds are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The preschool program’s goal is to help children grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
