An Associated Press photo from Iraq that suffered from a production error originally appeared in the newspaper on Aug. 12. That photo was the subject of an “Ask the Editors” question in Friday’s newspaper, in which the original publication date was incorrect.
Police officer at movie was on duty
A Spokane police officer who worked at the June 30 opening of the movie “Fahrenheit 9/11” was on duty, although AMC, which owns the theater, covered the cost. Due to an editing error, the story indicated otherwise.
Corrected obituary in IN Life
Due to a clerical error, Friday’s obituary for Edith Rasmussen incorrectly listed today as the date of service. Graveside service will be next Saturday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery on the Troy/Deary Highway near Troy, Idaho. A complete obituary can be found in Monday’s IN Life section.
Yakima closed to steelhead fishing
Salmon fishing season opens on portions of the Yakima River on Wednesday. The Hunting and Fishing Report in Friday’s Sports section incorrectly said steelhead fishing was about to open on the river. The entire Yakima River is closed to steelheading year-round.
Whitworth provided tuition figures
Whitworth College’s tuition figures in Friday’s 7 section were obtained from Whitworth’s Publications and Media Relations department. Due to an editing error, the attribution was omitted from the story.
