Kettle Falls opens season with wins

Kettle Falls teams fared well in non-league season openers Thursday evening at Kettle Falls.

Zac Barber was 8 for 19 from the field and scored 22 points as the Bulldogs boys defeated Selkirk 53-45.

Travis Zimmerman led the Rangers with 16 points.

In the girls matchup, the Bulldogs broke from a tie after three quarters to earn a 56-42 victory over the Rangers.

The teams were tied at 38 at the end of the third quarter .

Liz Beardslee led Kettle Falls with 16 points and nine rebounds. Mandee Edwards added 12 points.

Chelsie Shaw scored 21 points for the Rangers.
