Freeman Cares 4 Kids Sunday

The Spokesman-Review

Santa Claus has an early Christmas gift for moms and dads.

The Future Business Leaders of America club at Freeman High School is offering baby-sitting services Sunday so parents can shop, decorate the house or just take a break. This is the second year FBLA has held the event, called Freeman Cares 4 Kids. About 45 children attended last year, and FBLA adviser Scott Moore said he’s expecting even more youngsters Sunday.

“Not a single kid wanted to leave when their parents got here (last year),” he said.

The service is open to kindergarten through fifth-graders. FBLA takes donations, which go toward the expense of the program and to the club. The group is raising money to attend the national FBLA competition in Orlando, Fla., next year.

Children can be registered at the door. The baby-sitting service runs from noon to 5 p.m. There will be rooms for crafts, games, video games, athletics and snacks.

“And then a room for me to hide in,” Moore joked.
