Lilac royalty candidates announced

The Spokane Lilac Festival Association has announced the 14 candidates who will compete in the Royalty Scholarship Coronation at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Spokane Opera House.

The candidates and their high schools are Kiranda Marshall, Central Valley; Christina Griffith, Rogers; Lindsey Cressey, North Central; Stacey Blodnick, Mead; Lauren Doruth, Gonzaga Prep; Courtney Millan, East Valley; Jamie Pacello, Shadle; Krista Kautzmann, Lewis and Clark; Rachael Roig, Cheney; Anna Willard, Freeman; Alissa Lanker, University High; Tiffany Yoder, Medical Lake; Nicole Holland, Northwest Christian; and Cassidy Gardner, Ferris.

Every high school in Spokane County was invited to participate in the royalty program, and from the names presented, 14 candidates were selected. A Lilac Festival queen and six princesses will be chosen from the field of candidates.

Coronation tickets will be available in January through TicketsWest. Adult tickets are $10; seniors and students with ID, $7; 12 and under, $5; children 5 and under, free.
