Fight breaks out at party, four injured
At least four juveniles suffered minor injuries during a fight on Spokane’s South Hill early Sunday, Spokane police said.
A resident in the 500 block of East 42nd Avenue was having a party when uninvited guests arrived and the party “started to get out of hand,” said Dick Cottam, police spokesman.
The resident told everyone to leave about 1 a.m., but a few people remained. The four victims, who had been at the party before, returned to look for some cash that had been stolen, Cottam said.
A girl came forward and returned $26 she had taken from the wallet, and the four victims started to leave. As they left, one of the partygoers still at the home confronted the man who wanted his cash back, and a fight began, Cottam said.
Several men had one of the four victims on the ground, hitting him. One woman was pushed through a window during the scuffle, but was not injured.
The four victims escaped and called police, Cottam said.
Only one man required medical treatment for minor cuts and bruises, Cottam said.
No arrests were made. Alcohol was involved, Cottam said.
Because of the age of the victims and those at the party, police are forwarding the case to Spokane Public Schools for further investigation.
