Performers of varying ages and talents will take center stage at Players and Spectators for Rising Star Night.

Registrations are currently being accepted for three-minute tryouts on Jan. 9. Contestants can sing, dance, perform drama or comedy or play instruments – the sky is the limit. While solo performances are welcome, the show isn’t accepting bands.

Forty people will be registered for tryouts, which begin with sign-ins at 4 p.m. and performances at 5. The entry fee is $5.

Ten finalists will be selected for the final show, Jan. 22, 7:30 p.m. The tryouts and the show are being held as dinner theaters.

A winner will be chosen based on audience response. The top performer receives $100 and a month of free advice from artist development coach Julie Anne Young. Young has more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment business.
