Noelle Quinn had 16 points and nine rebounds to help No. 23 UCLA beat USC 62-61 in Los Angeles on Tuesday night in the Pacific-10 Conference opener for both teams.

Nikki Blue had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bruins (7-3). Lisa Willis added 13 and Lindsey Plummer scored 12 before fouling out.

Camille Lenoir and Eshaya Murphy led USC (6-4) with 13 points apiece.

(4) Texas 83, Sam Houston St. 33: Tiffany Jackson scored 13 points to lead the Longhorns (7-2) to their 41st consecutive victory at home, an easy win over the Bearkats (2-7) in Austin, Texas. … (7) North Carolina 91, Lipscomb 45: Erlana Larkins matched her career high with 22 points and had 10 rebounds in the Tar Heels’ (10-1) victory over the Lady Bison (5-3) at Chapel Hill, N.C. … (13) Texas Tech 83, Sacramento St. 37: Cisti Greenwalt scored 19 points and the Lady Raiders (8-2) raced to a win against the Hornets (3-6) in Lubbock, Texas. … (18) Iowa 59, Wis.-Milwaukee 51: Johanna Solverson had 23 points and the Hawkeyes (11-0) wiped out a five-point halftime deficit to remain unbeaten by beating the Panthers (3-6) in Milwaukee. Jamie Cavey added 18 points for the Hawkeyes, who shot 28.1 percent in the first half.
