Rehydration treats feline distemper

A news brief in Wednesday’s Spokesman-Review about the disinfection closure at the Spokane Humane Society did not clearly report that the bleach solution used to combat feline distemper is only for cleaning areas where the cats live. Cats with the disease can be treated with rehydration of fluids and electrolytes.
