Clint Eastwood, daughter Alison patch differences

Evelyn Green King Features Syndicate

Q: I recall that Clint Eastwood’s daughter Alison worked in two of his movies a few years ago. (Note: The films were “Absolute Power” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”) I read somewhere that after she did a layout in Playboy, he was so angry he refused to work with her again. Is this true? Also, how many children does he have? — Ronee H.

A: According to people close to Eastwood Dad and Eastwood Daughter, Alison (who stars in the upcoming independent film “Raising the Dead” as a young woman whose reunion with her siblings at their father’s funeral leads to a dark revelation) reportedly said her dad had the usual paternal reservations about the Playboy incident, but respected her right to do it.

Eastwood, who turned 74 in May, has seven children; two with his first wife, actor Maggie Johnson; one with his current wife, TV newswoman, Dina Eastwood; one with a former lover, Frances Fisher (“Titanic”); another child with another former lover, Roxanne Tunis (“Blue City”); and two others with still another ex-love, Jacelyn Reeves.

Q: I’m a longtime fan of my fellow Greek-American John Stamos, and I was wondering if he has spoken about his breakup with his wife, Rebecca Romjin Stamos? — Helen O.

A: Stamos (ex-“Full House”), who will be starring in a new series for ABC next season, has indeed been talking about his breakup with Rebecca Romjin (who dropped the Stamos from her name when they separated) and saying very nice things about her, and positive things about their situation. He says he still “adores” her and believes she feels the same way about him. He also indicates that the separation may not lead to a divorce, as some in the Hollywood press have speculated. “We just needed some time apart,” he says.

Q: Is Jim Belushi, who stars on “According to Jim,” of Arabian or Lebanese descent? I believe he is. My brother says he’s not. Also, is Tony Shaloub, who stars on “Monk,” of Lebanese or Arabian origins? Please advise. — Chris D.

A: Jim Belushi is of Albanian descent. Tony Shaloub’s background is Lebanese.

Q: Please explain a news release I just heard that Britney Spears is a stepmother. When did that happen? — Darlene C.

A: As I write this, Spears is about to marry second husband Kevin Federline. Should that marriage actually take place, Spears will become stepmother to Federline’s eldest child, with “Moesha” star Shar Jackson. She (Jackson) also expects to deliver their second baby right about now.

Spears was said to be delighted at the prospect of being a stepmother and says she’ll be happy to baby-sit for Shar, who has already indicated she plans to ask her to do just that.

P.S. Actually, Federline would be Spears’ first husband, since her earlier marriage lasted a few hours before it was annulled.
