Dickau traded again, this time to Warriors

From staff and wire reports

OAKLAND, Calif. — Former Gonzaga University point guard Dan Dickau is on the move again.

On Tuesday, the Portland Trail Blazers traded Dickau and forward Dale Davis to the Golden State Warriors for point guard Nick Van Exel.

Dickau, entering his third NBA season, has been traded three times since being drafted in the first round by the Sacramento Kings in 2002. On draft day, the Kings traded him to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks then sent Dickau to Portland in the deal that brought Rasheed Wallace to Detroit last season.

Dickau likely will be the third-string point guard for the Warriors, who recently signed Derrick Fisher to a six-year, $37 million deal. They also have Speedy Claxton under contract for this season.

Portland will be the fifth NBA team for Van Exel, who will make approximately $12 million next season. He has been a dependable scorer and playmaker throughout his career, and the Blazers could use him at both guard positions.

Davis averaged 4.4 points and 5.2 rebounds as the heart of Portland’s defense last season.
