Catholic Charities House of Charity – Meals, clothing, free medical care, and mental health social services are available to the homeless, very low income and the senior populations of downtown. For information about volunteering call Geri at 624-7821.

Explorer Search and Rescue – Teens in the ninth grade and 14 years or older are invited to join the Explorer Search and Rescue to help with the Spokane County Sheriff’s office and throughout the state with emergency services. Training is provided and starts in September. For more information call Shawn at 924-2417.

Greater Spokane Substance Abuse Council’s Prevention Center – Volunteers are needed to mentor youths aged 13-20 who have been referred to the Minors in Prevention Program, a hands-on educational program designed to prevent substance abuse and high-risk behavior. For information call Corina at 922-8383.

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane – A database administrator is needed to clean-up and maintain the agency’s database. The project could be up to 40 hours a week for at least six months and 25 hours a week for maintenance. Volunteers must have good computer skills. For information call Craig at 534-2552 ext. 21.

St. Anne’s Children and Family Center – The CAPA/Doula Mentoring Project is looking for volunteer mentors willing to commit one year to young single mothers. Training and educational meetings will be provided. Training starts in September. For information or an application call Lisa at 325-7667.
