Kelowna sweeps RiverHawks
The Kelowna Falcons roughed up Spokane reliever Bobby Barcus, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning, to rally for a 7-6 victory and a Pacific International League sweep of the RiverHawks in baseball action at Spokane Falls Community College on Sunday.
The Falcons (2-1) rode the arm of reliever Geoff White, who tossed six shutout innings and allowed just one hit, to a 4-3 12-inning victory in the opener.
Derek Dupree and B.J. DuBarry each had a pair of hits to pace the RiverHawks (1-2) in the opener. Reliever Bobby McEwen was the tough-luck loser for Spokane. He went six innings and allowed just one run and four hits while striking out seven.
James Ortega went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored to lead Spokane’s offense in the nightcap.
