Central Washington closes admissions
ELLENSBURG – Central Washington University has closed admission to the Ellensburg campus for incoming freshmen and transfer students for fall 2004.
The closure announced Monday marks the first time the campus has closed admission since 1987.
During the past four years, transfer student applications have grown by 50 percent and freshman applications have increased by 54 percent, said Mike Reilly, associate vice president for enrollment management.
At the same time, state-funded enrollments have grown by just 4.3 percent, he said.
