Liberty Lake’s annual yard sale Saturday
Liberty Lake residents are doing massive desk, drawer and cupboard cleanouts in preparation for the city’s giant yard sale.
It’s the 11th year for the citywide community yard sale, held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Entry fees are $10 per household ($5 for seniors over age 60) and pay for maps, advertising and a large donation to community nonprofits. Past donations benefited the fireworks fund, Pavillion Park and the Liberty Lake Historical Society.
Last year 3,500 maps were handed out to bargain seekers who perused through items ranging from sofas to Santa mugs at 250 houses.
Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Kiwanis and other nonprofits are piggybacking their own yard sales and food booths. Liberty Lake Municipal Library is selling used books, with hardbacks priced at $1 each and paperbacks going for 50 cents.
Free maps of the participating neighborhoods are available at area stores and gas stations. self end
