Phillies 13, White Sox 10: At Chicago, Bobby Abreu homered twice and Eric Milton won his third straight start to lead Philadelphia over the White Sox. Abreu hit a solo home run in the first and a two-run shot in a seven-run fourth for the Phillies.

Devil Rays 4, Giants 3 (10): At St. Petersburg, Fla., Jose Cruz Jr. hit a two-out, bases-loaded single in the 10th inning, giving Tampa Bay a victory over San Francisco. The Devil Rays loaded the bases against right-hander Tyler Walker (4-1) on three walks. Cruz worked the reliever to a 3-2 count, and singled over the first-base bag on the 11th pitch of the at-bat.

Twins 5, Mets 3: At Minneapolis, Johan Santana pitched seven strong innings to snap his four-game losing streak and Jacque Jones hit a three-run homer, leading Minnesota past New York. Matthew LeCroy followed Jones’ homer with a solo shot for Minnesota, which has won three straight.

Orioles 8, Diamondbacks 2: At Baltimore, Miguel Tejada hit a tiebreaking, three-run homer in the seventh inning and Luis Matos added a two-run shot, powering the Orioles past Arizona.

Yankees 7, Rockies 5: At New York, Derek Jeter returned from a three-game absence to hit a go-ahead home run in the seventh inning, and the Yankees overcame the loss of starter Kevin Brown by rallying past Colorado. The Yankees won their 12th straight interleague game. Brown was forced to leave after only two innings because of stiffness in his lower back.

Indians 8, Marlins 1: At Cleveland, Jake Westbrook pitched eight impressive innings and Casey Blake homered to help the Indians defeat Florida. Westbrook (5-2) allowed one run and six hits.

Blue Jays 4, Dodgers 0: At Toronto, Miguel Batista pitched a four-hitter for his third career shutout, leading the Blue Jays over Los Angeles. Batista (4-4) set a season-high with seven strikeouts.

Pirates vs. Rangers, ppd: At Arlington, Texas, Pittsburgh and Texas were rained out for the second day in a row. Both games will be made up as part of a doubleheader today, which was supposed to be a day off for both teams.

Expos vs. Royals, ppd: At Kansas City, Mo., the game between Montreal and Kansas City was postponed by rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

Tigers 4, Braves 2: At Detroit, Eric Munson and Carlos Guillen homered, sending the Tigers to a victory over Atlanta. Craig Dingman got his first major league win, pitching three scoreless innings of relief in a game delayed by rain in the second inning.

Brewers 12, Angels 2: At Anaheim, Calif., Brady Clark went 4 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Milwaukee to a romp over Jarrod Washburn (7-3) and the Angels.

Athletics 17, Reds 8: At Oakland, Calif., Damian Miller belted a grand slam and Erubiel Durazo added a two-run shot as Oakland crushed Cincinnati to complete a three-game sweep.

Wednesday’s N.L. game

Cardinals 12, Cubs 4: At Chicago, Edgar Renteria hit a grand slam, Jim Edmonds homered twice and St. Louis roughed up Mark Prior (0-1) in a victory over the Cubs.
