Rain caused Interstate 90 crash

From staff reports

Heavy rain was to blame for an accident that backed up traffic for about an hour on Interstate 90 in Spokane on Thursday evening, the Washington State Patrol said.

A car and jack-knifed semi-tractor collided in the westbound lanes of I-90 near the Maple Street exit about 5:30 p.m. No major injuries were reported, WSP said. The accident blocked two lanes of traffic, causing cars to back up to the Trent/Hamilton exit.

The heavy rain caused water to pool over portions of the interstate, making it difficult for cars to slow.
