Suspicious dinghy interrupts ferry service
SEATTLE – The state ferry terminal at Southworth, on the Kitsap Peninsula, was closed late Thursday night and a State Patrol bomb squad was called because of a suspicious dinghy found tied to the terminal, a Washington State Ferries spokeswoman said.
State troopers were called to move the dinghy but looked inside and saw something that concerned them, ferries spokeswoman Susan Harris said.
She said she did not know exactly what they saw.
A spokesman for the Bremerton State Patrol office did not immediately return a call for comment.
The terminal was closed at about 9:45 p.m., she said.
