Los Angeles outlasts Connecticut in OT
LOS ANGELES — Lisa Leslie scored five of her 15 points in overtime and the Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Connecticut Sun 76-74 Monday night.
Leslie added 14 rebounds, and Nikki Teasley had 17 points and nine assists for the Sparks (6-4), who have won three straight.
Nykesha Sales scored 19 points for the Sun (4-6), who lost for the fourth time in five games. Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 14 points and five rebounds.
The Sparks’ Tamecka Dixon forced overtime by driving the lane with 10.7 seconds left in regulation. The Sun’s Katie Douglas then had a chance to win it, but Leslie blocked her 6-foot jumper with 0.9 seconds to go.
