Catchings leads Fever

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS — Tamika Catchings had 18 points and a season-high seven assists to lead the Indiana Fever past the Sacramento Monarchs 63-50.

Catchings also had five steals as the Monarchs committed a season-high 20 turnovers with guard Ticha Penicheiro hampered by a bruised left hand.

The injury kept Penicheiro out of the starting lineup for the first time in three seasons. She played only 20 minutes, failed to score and had a season-low two assists with two turnovers.

Indiana never trailed with Deanna Jackson scoring 10 points and reserve Kristen Rasmussen contributing 11 points.
