Fund-raiser at Planet Ice

A Spokane Valley fund-raiser could be a bargain night out for local families.

The skate night and spaghetti feed scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Planet Ice, 3212 N. Eden Road, will raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Admission is $5 and includes a meal of spaghetti, salad and bread; ice skating admission; and ice skate rental. There also will be on-ice games and a raffle.

Planet Ice business manager Kris Ryan is training for her first marathon, the Nike 26.2 in San Francisco in October. She’ll be competing as part of the Team in Training program run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each Team in Training member receives endurance training and in exchange must raise $3,000 for the society.

All proceeds from Saturday’s event will benefit the society.
