Brad Blakely of Mead and Nicholas Grigsby of Spokane earned spots Monday in the United States Junior Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship in qualifying held at Manito Golf and Country Club.

The pair will participate in the championships July 19-24 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco after shooting scores of 137 and 138, respectively.

Jeff Langin of Cranbrook, B.C., was first alternate at 141, while Joel Dahmen of Clarkston and Tyler Lynn of Spokane tied for second alternate at even-par 142.

UW announces schedule

The University of Washington men’s basketball team announced its schedule for next season and its home portion includes a nationally televised game with North Carolina State.

UW will have at least seven games against opponents who played in last year’s NCAA tournament.

Among those games will be a Dec. 5 home date with Eastern Washington University, a road game at Gonzaga Dec. 1, and a possible meeting with Ray Giacoletti’s Utah team at the Great Alaska Shootout.
