Richardson victorious

Idaho’s Jereme Richardson won his second Big West Conference track and field decathlon championship Thursday and led a 1-3-4 finish for the Vandals during the second day of competition at Irvine, Calif.

Richardson won the 110-meter hurdles during the day, and finished third in the 800 and pole vault. He finished with 7,168 points.

Richardson also won the title in 2001 and finished second last season.

Idaho’s Ryan Lang (6,544 points) placed third and Marcus Luckstead (6,457) took fourth. Irvine’s John Stewart, with a strong showing in the pole vault, captured second place.

In the heptathlon, Idaho’s Mary Ann Graves placed seventh and Cassie Rohrbacher was eighth.

Men’s basketball

North Idaho College sophomore guard Curtis Lincoln has signed to play for the Southern Utah University, NIC coach Hugh Watson said.

Lincoln, a two-year starter from Portland, averaged 13.6 points, 4.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
