Grading scale quote misattributed

Because of a reporter’s error, a quotation in the May 14 edition of the paper was misattributed. Horizon Middle School teacher Ann Cunningham said she believed a change in the grading scale would help struggling students, not Central Valley School Board President Anne Long.

Heather Jackson hit double

Because of a reporter’s error in Friday’s sports section, Heather Jackson was not credited with the game-winning RBI double in Central Valley’s 2-1 win over Gonzaga Prep in the District 8 4A softball playoffs.

Spokane River flow misstated

Because of a reporting error, the rate of flow for the Spokane River was misstated in a story in Wednesday’s Spokesman-Review. It was 11,000 cubic feet per second.

Funeral home not locally owned

Because of a reporting error, a business story Thursday incorrectly said Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home is locally owned. The owner is Service Corporation International, based in Texas.
