The 31,000-square-foot clubhouse at the Club at Black Rock opened this month. Marshall Chesrown, developer of the exclusive golf community south of Coeur d’Alene, said he wanted the clubhouse to have the look and feel of an oversized, luxury home rather than a typical golf clubhouse.

Think cedar beams and deep leather chairs, and massive stone fireplaces. But because Black Rock costs $100,000 to join, also think plasma-screen TVs in the bathrooms and a bar in the men’s locker room.

“We really want to make it feel like it your own luxury home,” Chesrown said, “… if you were wealthy, and had your own staff.”
