Cameron, Floyd collide
MIAMI – New York Mets outfielders Cliff Floyd and Mike Cameron collided while chasing a fly ball in the first inning Saturday night at Florida.
Cameron bruised his left should and remained in the game. Shane Spencer took over in left for Floyd, who bruised his left quadriceps.
Jeff Conine lofted a fly ball to the warning track in left-center. Floyd caught the ball, then collided with Cameron and both tumbled to the ground. Both remained down for about 3 minutes before walking slowly off the field.
Floyd held onto the ball for the third out of the inning.
