McMorris first female representative for 5th District

A front page story in Wednesday’s Spokesman-Review stated that Cathy McMorris will be the first woman to represent Eastern Washington in the U.S. House. She will actually be the first woman to represent the 5th Congressional District. Catherine May, who represented central Washington’s 4th Congressional District from 1959 through 1970, was the first woman to represent Washington state in the U.S. House.

Suspect’s name wrong in custody dispute

Due to a reporter’s error, the name of a man arrested after a custody dispute Monday was listed incorrectly Wednesday. The suspect’s name is Robert C. Smith.

Survivors not named, misidentified in obituary

Due to incomplete information provided to the newspaper, a survivor was missing from the Wednesday obituary for Lewis Daugherty. Also, another survivor’s relationship was misstated. A corrected obituary appears in today’s IN Life section.

Siblings not listed in obituary

Due to incomplete information provided to the newspaper, Delbert Robert’s siblings were not listed in his Wednesday obituary. A complete obituary appears in today’s IN Life section.

El Greco painting not at Seattle museum

The El Greco painting of Saint Ildefonso pictured in the Oct. 24 Travel section is not on display at the Seattle Art Museum. The museum is exhibiting a different painting of the same saint by the same artist.
