Pieces of glass found in candy from Halloween
A Coeur d’Alene trick-or-treater found pieces of glass embedded in a homemade sucker given out on Halloween, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.
The orange sucker appeared to be homemade and was wrapped in clear plastic. The girl discovered the glass shards Tuesday night when she unwrapped the candy, according to the police report. Her mother reported the find to police, who collected the sucker as evidence and are now investigating the incident.
The girl told police she was given the sucker from a home on the 300 block of South 17th Street by a tall, slender man with hazel eyes and a cowboy hat. The girl also said she noticed other homemade suckers wrapped in plastic at the residence, according to the police report.
